I'm sure all of you have heard about the recent opening of Fanatics. It is behind the AmericInn in the old Looney Bin building. It is a sports bar and grill type of restaurant equipped with plenty of TV's in the main dining area. In the back there are a couple of bigger tables for larger groups. Also, a pair of electronic dart boards and pool table are nestled in the back. If you haven't been there yet I suggest you check it out.
I may be somewhat biased toward it since I am a die hard sports fan, but overall it is a really great place. I'm not sure on the exact numbers but I think there are five normal TV's and three huge projector ones. A sports fan's dream! However if you are not into sports, I still think it's an awesome place. If you don't want to have the loud music or sounds of the games you can ask to be seated in the back.
A couple things that I do think could be better are the menu and the seating. The menu seems somewhat small so I would like to see that expand. Seating is also pretty minimal, and maybe it is just packed because of its recent opening but I dont think any extra seating would hurt. Even with these two small complaints they really don't push me away. The items on the menu may be few but they are fantastic. It also looks like they are adding more seating in the back so I don't think that should be a problem for too long.
Now that we have this excellent restaurant in Beulah I hope we can keep it. Sure Country Kettle and The Grand View are good places to eat but it gets old after a while, and I'm not made of money. Fanatics gives I good price range and quality that is sandwitched right between that of the other two joints. I think it is just what Beulah needed and I hope it gets the support it needs to stay running.
Hunter, perhaps you should be on their promotion team! Nice review. Your tone is appropriate and tactful as you express your opinions. Some of your word choice seems to be repetitive, so double check that before hitting the publish button as well as looking for silly grammatical errors and typos. Describing the food, like you did the TVs could be an area to explore or even talking more about the need for a new restaurant in town is an important topic of discussion.
ReplyDeleteI am not a sports fan at all and I still love Fanatics! I completly agree with you on everything you say. I like how you talked about all the good things and then stated the not-so great things. You made some really good points overall! I also loved the title of this piece! Good Job!
ReplyDeleteI was talking to Paul, the manager, and he said they do have more to add to the menu! They just didn't want to overwhelm the cooks and such right away with so much to remember so they are going to add to it a little at a time! (: However, I thought you did a good job contrasting with this piece. I liked how you didn't just tell us how wonderful it was, you honestly said what you felt! Good job!
ReplyDeleteYou describe the atmosphere very well in your writing. I also appreciated your honesty with what you want changed and agree with you.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a good job of stating your opinion without going crazy! good job:) And don't worry, there is more to be added to the menu! They are just more concerned with getting what we have perfected before adding to it!
ReplyDeleteThis was a great review because you gave very good possitive and negative points. I haven't eaten there yet but we are going there for prom. I have went to the one in Riverdale though. The same guys own that restaurant so I assume it is very similar to Knight's Steakhouse. Good job with the details which really make me excited to go eat there.
